Did you agree or disagree with the strike in Chicago. How would you know what your kid is doing when they are not in school. How would you feel if teachers went on strike for not teaching. I would be really upset. What happens when scouts cant see athletes play? Would scholarships be tooken away? I wrote this letter to inform you on what is going on in Chicago.
In Chicago, teachers were on strike because they were not getting paid enough money. Not getting enough respect. Many school with poor building conditions. I did oppose the strike, because students should be in school learning. They should not have to be out of school. I dont thinks that is is fair for the student trying to learn.
How would you feel if you would not know where your child is for eight hours? I really think that is unsafe. They could be getting into any kind of troube. Most parents feel safe because they know where there child is most of the day. With students out of school, they are not able to get the right education that they need to survive in this world.
My next reason is that if you play a sport, you have to be a student athlete. How are you going to be a student athlete if you are not in school? Then it only makes you an athlete. If student-athletes are not in school, how will scouts come and look at you? Will scouts take schlorships away from players? They probally will not visit that school anymore. It would make school look bad and have a bad reputation.
I showed you all of my reasons why I am against the strike. I really think that all students should be at school. Definitley if you are trying to go to college.
